Vijayawada: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has called upon Telugus to rise to the level of giving jobs instead of seeking them.

Addressing the Telugu industrialists as part of ‘Meet and Greet’ programme in Zurich on Monday, Naidu claimed credit for laying the foundation for the second generation people to become entrepreneurs. He advised parents to send their daughters to pursue education and said he provided 33 per cent reservations for them in getting admission in educational institutions and in jobs.

He said that such a move helped to find Telugu women in all IT companies.

With regard to the shortage of manpower in every nation, Naidu said Japan was asking India for manpower for the first time. If a right decision is not taken at the right time, who would enjoy it if wealth was created and technology was developed, he asked.

He predicted that two crore Telugu people would rule the roost in the world. He wanted them to stay put in the place where they were staying at present and advised them to expand themselves. “You need to be present to develop AP as it could be done even by a telephone.”

Naidu wished that the Telugu people should spread to all parts of the world and they must balance their places of birth and work, equally.

He said, “I encouraged the youth to enter politics. A nation will flourish only because of its youth. You people have come from 12 nations in Europe for this meeting. Earlier, when I arrived at the airport, no Telugu people were to be found in Europe. Our people are very clever and go to such places where they can find employment opportunities.”

“As Europe is facing trouble to find young manpower, our people are finding a chance to go and work all over the world. In all nations in the world, we can find Indians and the Telugu people.”

Naidu said that he was fortunate to be born a Telugu and wanted to take birth again as a Telugu. “My heart is longing for the Telugu people.” He thanked all Telugu people who fought for him when he was in jail for 53 days.

The CM said TDP, Jana Sena and BJP joined hands and contested the last polls and got an unprecedented victory. ‘I will never forget in my life as to how the Telugu people living all over the world came to AP and voted for us.”

Turning to his family, Naidu said, “As my family never wanted to depend on politics to make money, they set up a firm called Heritage; and despite failing twice, they could be successful and are leading a life with dignity.”

He said, “ As I am involved in politics, my wife is taking care of the family business. So is the case with my son, Lokesh, who is involved in politics while my wife Brahmani is in business. Though we have come from the agriculture and labourer families, we are able to flourish wherever we go in the world.”

He said that AP would become a green hydrogen hub, and called upon the Telugus abroad to become the part of AP’s development.
