Armed Forces Veterans Day Parade Held in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) organised the inaugural Veterans’ Day Parade at RK Beach on Saturday to commemorate the 9th Armed Forces Veterans’ Day.

The historic event saw enthusiastic participation from over 500 veterans, Veer Naris, and their dependents, serving as a heartfelt tribute to the valiant individuals who dedicated their lives to national service.

Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ENC, officiated as the chief guest. He was joined by Vice Admiral VK Namballa (Retd), President of the Navy Foundation, and Dr Chandra Shekar P, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (Retd). The parade commenced from Vishwapriya Hall on RK Beach Road and concluded at the Naval Coastal Battery.

Flag officers, ENC personnel, senior civil dignitaries, National Cadet Corps (NCC) contingents, Sea Cadet Corps, and students from Sainik School Korukonda were among the attendees.

Vice Admiral Pendharkar expressed gratitude to veterans for their unwavering service and reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to the welfare of its retired personnel and their families.

The parade marked a milestone in honouring India’s heroes, reinforcing the enduring bond between serving and retired Armed Forces members. This initiative underlines a collective resolve to remember, respect, and care for those who protected the nation’s sovereignty.
