Home minister reviews Gopalapatnam police station’s ops

Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha conducted a surprise inspection at Gopalapatnam police station, Visakhapatnam district, on Monday after she visited the Simhachalam temple. During the inspection, she reviewed the station's operations, including CCTV camera functionality and records of rowdy sheets.

The minister issued directives to police officials, emphasising accident prevention and stronger action against ganja trafficking. She highlighted the importance of timely charge sheet filing and proper FIR registration. She also announced plans for a new police station in Vepagunta and instructed the Endowment Department to establish a police outpost at Simhachalam temple.

In her interaction with women constables, the minister discussed their welfare and working conditions. Earlier in the day, she said `11,400 crore was allotted by the Centre for the Visakhapatnam steel plant and criticised the previous administration for mishandling the steel plant.
