New Orleans Drag Queen Simulates Assassinating Trump in Pride Weekend Video

The entertainer, who wore a black hat covering their face, as they pretended to make a gun with their hands as they turned toward a video screen playing the footage from the commander-in-chief's near-fatal appearance at a rally in Butler, Penn., in July 2024.
People online appeared shocked by the pretend act. "DISGUSTING! I'm not a [Barack] Obama fan, but I would STILL find this disgusting and unacceptable even if it was him!!!! But no, they'd be in jail for that," one person wrote about the clip.

"It's so crazy that people get away with threatening a sitting president. If it wasn't Trump, this person would be getting a visit from the FBI," a second person added.
"Very inappropriate," another remarked of the political statement.

The right-wing leader, 78, was shot last summer but quickly recovered.
During his Monday, January 20, inauguration speech, Trump mentioned his brush with death. "My recent election will be to reverse a horrible betrayal," he noted. "To give back people their wealth, their freedom, their health. From this moment on, America's decline is over."

"They've tried to take my freedom and take my life just a few months ago in a beautiful Pennsylvania field. An assassin's bullet ripped through my ear," the businessman said. "What I felt then and even more now, my life was saved for a reason. I was saved by God to make America great again."
The assassin, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by the Secret Service immediately.

In September 2024, another person tried to take the Republican's life while he was golfing in Palm Beach, Fla.
"If you really think about it, July 13th was a miracle. He could, you know, he could not be with us," First Lady Melania Trump explained in an interview about the first attempt.
"I ran to the TV and I rewind[ed] it and I watched it," she added. "When I saw it … nobody really knew yet [what had happened]. When you see him on the floor and you don't know, you don't know what really happened."
