Visakhapatnam:A new passport office in Araku Valley will be inaugurated on January 21, bringing much-needed accessibility to the region’s residents. Located within the local sub-post office, the facility is set to streamline the passport application process for those previously required to travel to Visakhapatnam.
During a two-day testing period last month, the office processed ten applications, with five individuals booking slots on each day. In January, five people reserved appointments on January 16, followed by four on January 17. Following this successful phase, the office will officially open on January 22, with the capacity to handle up to 50 bookings per day.
The new office is expected to alleviate the logistical challenges faced by locals in obtaining passports and improve the efficiency of public service delivery in the region. Local residents are eagerly anticipating its official opening, which promises greater convenience and improved infrastructure.
