Notorious burglar held

Hyderabad:The central zone task force and Keesara police arrested 39-year-old Bharath Kumar Sharma, said to be facing charges in 40 property theft cases across three commissionerates and other districts. The accused would sell the stolen goods and spend the money on expensive hotels and nights of excessive drinking.

The suspect, police said, was a a labourer by day and a burglar by night. Using iron rods and screwdrivers, Sharma would break into homes after dark.

Born and raised in Kokarwadi, Charminar, Sharma attended school until Class 5 before dropping out due to his growing addiction to alcohol and cigarettes. This led him to a life of crime, committing multiple thefts and serving several jail sentences.

Sharma would recce streets on his bike, looking for locked houses. He would break in during the night, stealing gold and valuables. Additionally, Sharma has been linked to motorcycle thefts and has been subjected to the PD Act twice. Police have seized `1 lakh in cash, two motorcycles, tools, and a cell phone from the accused.
