The offseason struggles have finally come to an end for

Anthony Santander

, who has been signed by the

Toronto Blue Jays

for a contract worth $90 Million plus. While

Blue Jays

fans are excited to welcome the Right/Left fielder,

Baltimore Orioles

legend Jim Palmer is nothing but "sorry" about the team's loss. Palmer made the statement via his X account.

What did Jim Palmer say about Anthony Santander's signing to the Blue Jays?

On Monday, ESPN released a report in which the publication revealed that Anthony Santander and the Toronto Blue Jays have agreed upon a five-year-long contract worth more than $90 Million. ESPN's report about the contract said:
"Breaking: The Blue Jays and outfielder Anthony Santander have agreed to a deal, a source confirmed to ESPN. The news was first reported by MLB Network. The deal is for five years and more than $90 million, sources tell @JeffPassan."

The news attracted reaction from multiple critics, including the Baltimore Orioles legend Jim Palmer. On Tuesday, Palmer took to his X account to reveal being "sorry" about losing Anthony Santander to the Blue Jays. Sharing his reaction, the Orioles legend said:
"Sorry to lose Anthony Santander.. but he deserves to be paid well, and the Blue Jays were willing to go to 5 years, over 90 million $. Wish him nothing but good health, a classy talented player that helped the O’s back to respectability.."

Apart from Jim Palmer, former Toronto Blue Jays star Yonder Alonso also shared his reaction to Anthony Santander's latest signing. During his appearance on “MLB Tonight” on Monday, Alonso claimed that Santander's presence in the Blue Jays could lead the team to massive success. Talking about the same, he said:
"If I'm the Blue Jays, I'm as happy as it gets. I think it's a bargain. For a 30-year-old, this guy pulls every single day, 150-plus games. He's a switch-hitter, which helps a righty-heavy lineup of the Toronto Blue Jays. But when I look at this guy, I see much more than what he does inside the lines. I can see a guy who is bilingual."

"I think it also helps the younger guys that are coming up. He understands what it takes to build a team, what it takes to build a winning formula. Toronto has that [now]. Getting a guy like this will not only help now as a 30-year-old but even when he's 32-33 because we know he's going to post. I can see a guy who can speak up in that clubhouse," he further added.
Anthony Santander was drafted into MLB in 2016 by the Baltimore Orioles and stayed with the team till 2024. During his eight years with the team, Santander scored a total of 155 home runs with a batting average of 0.246. Let's see what the future holds for Anthony Santander with the Blue Jays.
