Nizamabad: Minister for excise and tourism Jupally Krishna Rao said that police Bharosa centres will extend full support to the women and girls. The victims in POCSO and rape cases will get the assistance from the authorities, he said. Medical, police and legal assistance will be provided as one stop crisis centre, he explained.
Minister along with advisor to the state government Mohammad Ali Shabbir inaugurated Bharosa centre with the cost of Rs 2.10 crore here at police commissionerate on Sunday. DGP Jitender, MLAs Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta, P.Sudarshan Reddy, R.Bhupathi Reddy, district collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, IG Chandrasekhar Reddy, in-charge police commissioner Ch.Sindhu Sharma and others were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Rao said that awareness should be created on services of the Bharosa centre. Moral support should be given to the victims in sexual harassment and rape cases, he said. DGP Jitender said that 29th Bharosa centre was inaugurated in Nizamabad. under the women safety wing, Bharosa centre will be run with corporate companies social responsibility scheme, he said.
Earlier, the victims in POCSO and rape cases faced inconvenience while lodging complaint in police station and after medical assistance and other needs, he said. Bharosa centres will be worked as one stop centre to extend all possible help to the victims, he said. Bharosa centres tackled 6910 POCSO cases, 1770 rape cases and 1770 domestic violence cases since 2016 to 2024 in Telangana state, he said.
Meanwhile, DGP Jitender inaugurated police guest house at traffic training institute in Kyasampally of Kamareddy district on Sunday. He presented mementos to the Kamareddy rural inspector Raman, Devunipally SHO Raju for their role in construction of police guesthouse. Kamareddy addl SP K.Narasimha Reddy, ASP Chaitanya and others were present.
