Warangal: The Brahmotsavams of Sri Veerabhadra Swamy, which began with the celestial wedding of the presiding deity during the Sankranti festivities, concluded on Saturday with the Agni Gundala (Fire Walk) ceremony at Kothakonda village in Bheemadevarapally mandal, Hanamkonda district.
The annual jatara attracted thousands of devotees from various corners of the state, who participated by offering traditional gifts such as gummadi (pumpkins) and mango saplings. The temple is renowned for its unique collection of divine trees, including Rudraksha, Jammi, Banyan, Neem, Peepal, and Amla, which are rarely found together in one place. Devotees flocked to the temple to perform prayers to these sacred trees and seek their blessings.
The final phase of the Brahmotsavam featured an extraordinary display of devotion, with both devotees and police personnel — deployed for security arrangements — participating in the fiery event. Participants walked barefoot through blazing flames while chanting ‘Veerabhadra Sharabha Sharabha,’ showcasing their deep faith, dedication, and unwavering belief in Lord Sri Veerabhadra Swamy.
The Agni Gundala ceremony marked a grand conclusion to the month-long celebrations, highlighting the strong communal spirit and religious fervour of the attendees.
